Our Story
Andrew & Oderay’s story began in 2021 at the University of Guelph, where they met in the laundry room of their residence hall. Oderay was on call as a residence assistant, and she was wearing her staff vest, while Andrew was not. Wanting to make a good impression, Andrew introduced himself as a fellow RA to make sure he was not mistaken for a first-year student.
They grew close as they worked together, studied Italian together, saw each other at parties, grocery shopped together, and went on long winter expeditions to the dining hall ...all the way across campus in the snow and ice.
In the winter of 2022, they officially
became a couple. Over the next few years, they shared classes - including physical chemistry and food chemistry - and spent countless hours together in labs and in the library.
During short school breaks, they would visit Andrew's family in Vermont or Oderay's family in Washington, DC. Summer breaks usually meant being apart for four months, but their bond only grew stronger.
After graduating in June 2024,
Andrew returned home to Vermont, while Oderay stayed in Canada, and their long-distance relationship began again, but this time for a much longer length of time. Both grew tired of being so far apart, and plans of a future together began to brew.
In August 2025, Andrew proposed-and Oderay said yes!

After almost 4 years together, they are excited to take the next step and celebrate with the people they love most.
